Turn syllabus lines into calendar events
- Check which semester and year the syllabus covers. Set the year for dates that do not include one.
- Copy the deadline lines you want to track. One date per line is easiest to review.
- Enter the course name, paste its lines into Term Map, and choose Find dates. Repeat for each course; matching deadlines remain separate when their course names differ.
- Review the proposed dates and titles. Fix anything ambiguous before adding the deadlines to your plan.
- Choose Export calendar to download an ICS file and import it into your calendar app.
The date finder recognizes common formats such as ISO dates, numeric month/day dates, and month names. For example:
Oct 13 — Midterm exam 2026-10-22 — Lab report 2 11/04/2026 — Final project draft
Import the ICS file into Google Calendar
Term Map downloads an ICS calendar file; it does not connect to your calendar account. In Google Calendar on a computer, open Settings → Import & export, choose the downloaded file, select the calendar for your classes, and click Import. See Google’s official import instructions for the current steps.
Importing a file is a one-time transfer, not a live sync. Google notes that imported events do not stay in sync. If you change a deadline in Term Map later, review and update the matching calendar event yourself.
Keep the semester plan on your device
Course names, tasks, and pasted text stay in this browser. Term Map sends only anonymous daily totals for visits and feature actions; it does not send syllabus text or task details. Download a backup if you want to move your plan to another browser or device.
